1 week left!

You’ve only got 1 week left to Pre Register for $25! Pre Reg ends midnight December 31st! So make sure to take advantage of this deal!

Also, we’d like to apologize for taking so long to post the vendor and artist alley contracts. We have posted the Vendor Contract and will be taking in the applications January 1st. But Artist Alley will need to wait until December 26th for theirs. Again, we apologize.

Everyone from OMGcon would like to with you a Happy Holiday season! ^.^

Convention Hotels

image001
We have decided on our convention hotels for OMGcon 2010, we’ll be working with the Drury family of hotels in Paducah. This includes the Thrifty Inn, Pear Tree Inn, Drury Inn and Drury Suites. I think you guys will be really happy with them.

All prices are listed on our Hotels section, you can also do your booking online with the special rate instead of having to call. The different hotel prices range for every budget, and allow 4 people at the price of one. You can also book a room if you are 18! Drury Suites and Drury Inn is planning on including free hot snacks/meals by the time our convention roles around, so check our hotel section throughout the year for updated information.

Bishie Con, Fukubiki, and a Volunteer Meeting!

Thanks to everyone who came to visit our booth at Bishie Con!

fukubiki
For those who haven’t visited our booth at a convention yet, but will be in the future, I wanted to explain a bit about an addition to our table! If you’ve visited us at other cons before, we’ve always done a raffle. We love giving people stuff! Well this year we decided to go all out and get a fukubiki machine or a japanese lottery machine.

You might have seen them in anime before, you spin a little box filled with little colored balls around, one pops out and depending on the color you win a prize. While at a convention we allow everyone a spin once a day and you can win all sorts of things. Like OMGcon promotional items like bookmarks and buttons or video game & anime merchandise. And our grand prize is a free 3 day pass to OMGcon! So make sure to come by and visit our booth if you happen to be going to any of the cons listed here.

If you are interested in joining our OMGcon Volunteers, we are planning on having our first meeting January 16th 2010. If you’d like to join us please email me at volunteer @ omgcon.com so I can add you to our volunteer mailing list. This mailing list will get you all the information you’ll ever need to know about getting involved. We always need more helping hands to make OMGcon a success!

Guest Announcements!

I wanted to make a quick post in regards to some of guests! We’ve got confirmation that Chris Ayres will be coming back for a 3rd year. And a first time appearance from Josh Grelle! I will be adding their information on the guest page as soon as I get it.

We should have a few more guest announcements to make before the end of the year, so keep checking back!

OMGcon at Sugoicon

We had a great turn out at our booth during Sugoicon. We appreciate everyone that came by to participate in our free Japanese Lottery Machine. We almost ran out of lottery balls, that means almost 2,000 plays! Make sure to check our Registration page that lists all of the cons we plan on attending, you might get lucky and get a chance to play!

Also, we apologize to anyone who might have tried registering on November 2nd. Our host server went crazy and wouldn’t let me update the new links. We appreciate your patients! You can now Pre Register, so make sure to visit our Online Reg, or Mail-In Reg.

And just a quick reminder, our website as well as our forum will be undergoing random updates and maintenance within the next few months, so if the website is down please don’t panic. We are just trying to make it better for you! ^.^

Welcome to the new site!

Hello Everyone!

Well it’s time to introduce OMGcon 2010! We are still in the process of redoing the site, this isn’t the final version. Most of it is still under construction. But wander around, get acquainted with it, and look forward to all the changes that will be made soon!

Our Pre Registration starts November 2nd, just like the years before you can either choose to register Online or Mail-In. Something different we’ve introduced this year is group registration online. We had a lot of people last year ask about this, and we decided it would be a benefit to everyone if we gave it a try. Also group mail in registration has just one sheet now that everyone fills out, instead of separate sheets. This should save some trees!

We will not be taking Artist Alley or Vendor applications until January 1st. We also won’t be taking Fan Panels or Street Team until then as well. Why? Because we’ve got promotional items to make and contracts to finalize. But we will be posting more news as the time gets closer.

If you visit our Registration page, it has the list of all of the conventions we plan on visiting to promote at. Halloween weekend is Sugoicon, our booth will be pretty basic because we are still in the works of creating promotional items. But we will have a new way for you to win prizes, so make sure to swing by our booth!

Keep checking back for updates!
